Ki by Wood began with a simple wish: to bring a little quiet back into everyday life.
Agarwood grows in many parts of the world, each shaped by its own land and climate, but wild agarwood is now almost gone. What remains forms slowly over many years, through the tree’s natural response to its surroundings.
In Hainan’s Limu Mountain, agarwood trees grow in warm rain and red earth. Their lives are marked by storms, insects, broken branches, or heat from a passing fire. As the tree heals itself, a dark resin forms deep inside. In a small number of trees, this resin becomes "Kynam" (Kyara) — rare, steady, and deeply valued.
Its scent develops gradually. It doesn’t rush or rise sharply; it settles quietly and opens a little space in the mind. Across the Middle East and East Asia, agarwood has long been appreciated for this calm depth, more than for ceremony or tradition.
That feeling stayed with us, and Ki by Wood grew from there. We work with Kynam-based agarwood from trusted Hainan sources and craft each piece simply — no forcing, no shortcuts, letting the wood remain true to itself.
To us, Ki is a gentle steadiness, the kind that appears when life slows and there is finally room to breathe. Ki by Wood is our way of bringing a bit of that quiet into everyday moments — something to wear, hold, or simply keep close.
